More Pictures along the way - April 1-2 - Yosemite

I had the opportunity to see Yosemite National Park in the late 70s while in California for a 3 week training session while working at IBM. On that visit, I only spent 3-4 hours and didn't see much of the park but was really impressed by the grandeur and knew that at some point I wanted to bring Diane with me to see this amazing place.

As you come out of a 1/4 mile tunnel, you are presented with this awesome view of Yosemite valley. In the center is Bridal Veil falls.

Below is our first view of Yosemite falls. At this point we didn't even realize that there were lower falls that we couldn't even see from this view.
The cathedral spires just before sunset our first day in the park.
This is another view of the cathedral spires taken as we were leaving the park. It gives a better frontal view but it was hazy the day we were leaving and this was taken from quite a distance.
The lodge we stayed in at the park is tucked in among a lot of large trees. The bright red car is our second rental after the incident with the flat tires that Diane described in her blog.
This is the view of Yosemite from just outside our lodge. It was really nice to be able to hear them during the night.
This is my favorite shot of Yosemite falls. It was taken during our walk to the base of the falls.
Diane and I in front of the lower Yosemite Falls.
El Capitain taken on our way out of the park. Bridal Veil falls taken from the road on our way out of the park on April 1st.
Yosemite Park is one of the most beautiful spots that nature has left us. It is protected now and hopefully will continue to be.

We were lucky to spend some time there an admire nature at its best.
